As the granddaughter of Chief Mbegha, I am honored to introduce Mbegha Roots Travel. My name is Aisha Gembe Rustad, and I hail from the Sambaa family in Lushoto, Tanzania.My family and I take immense pleasure in introducing you to the rich and distinctive culture of the Sambaa people from the picturesque Usambara Mountains. Tracing our lineage back to Kilindi Chief Mbegha, affectionately known as Simba Mwene, or "the Lion's King," who laid the foundations of the Kilindi dynasty in the 18th century, we carry forward the legacy of our forebears with pride. Mbegha epitomized the values of friendship, hospitality, and unity, fostering a society steeped in peace and collectivism.
