It was an adventurous journey with safe travel companions. The friendly locals warmly welcomed us and invited us to return. My First Journey to Tanzania, And Why I’ll Never Forget It
On my first trip to Africa, I traveled to Tanzania with Aisha and Arne Mathias. Flying from Norway was easy via Turkish or Ethiopian Airlines. Landing in Dar es Salaam was striking—so much contrast to life back home. We were warmly welcomed everywhere, always felt safe, and experienced amazing hospitality in Aisha and Arne’s beautiful hillside home in Mombo. The view was stunning, the village authentic and vibrant. An unforgettable stay I truly recommend.

Traveling with Aisha and Arne gave us a vibrant first encounter with Africa. From white beaches and palm trees to Maasai culture and playful monkeys in Mombo — every day brought something new. We were deeply moved by the people we met, the beauty of the land, and the delicious Tanzanian meals prepared with love. It was a rich, heartfelt experience that showed us the real Tanzania. My first trip to Africa brought me to Tanzania in October 2024 — truly the adventure of a lifetime. Traveling with Aisha and Arne to their beautiful Mombo resort was a unique experience. The house offered comforts I appreciated: clean rooms, AC, Wi-Fi, showers, and even monkeys in the garden! I felt welcomed and cared for by everyone — from the kind drivers to the attentive staff. Exploring the lush mountains and connecting with the local culture made it all the more special. Next time, I’m bringing my daughters along!
